What is HDD?
HDD stands
for Hard Disk Drive. It is a mass storage device that consists of mechanical
parts i.e a rotating disk you all may have seen CD ROM the same kind of disk you
will notice inside a Hard Disk.
Since it has
many moving parts it will consume a lot of power. It is also very slow in performance
and even bulky in size.
In case the HDD
or the device consisting of HDD drops than there are chances of loss of data,
the HDD may get corrupted.
We can get
HDD’s at a very low price. They are applicable to store a large amount of data
such as image files, audio files, video files documents, etc. They operate with
an average speed of 140mb/s. The rotating disk produces sound while operating.
What is SSD?
SSD stands
for Solid State Drive as the name itself indicates, it is completely solid it
does not contain any moving parts. It resembles the SD card but will be larger
in size.
SSD operates
with an average speed of 140 MB/s. This speed enables us to perform heavy tasks
without any disturbances.
SSD consumes
less power. Coming to its cost they are very costly as compared to HDD.
Conclusion
Finally, I recommend
you to buy a hybrid drive which comes with a combination of both SSD and HDD. Where
you can store your operating system and software in SSD and other files in
HDD.
